Safety World Wide Web Foundation in collaboration with Gestweb Research srl has been engaging with advanced technological solution researches to protect minors in Internet web surfing for a decade.

Technological developments in and of communication has widely influenced the development of our society and the way people interact, especially among young people of the new generations.

We have been rapidly adapting to the world around us trying to take advantages from our experience to face nowadays unique social needs. Unique not for the contents, but fot their form.
Post that around 25% of children between 7 and 10 and around 50% of young people from 10 to 14 have their own mobile phones, it's everyday more easy to be roped in through SMS, MMS or, following an initial Internet contact, vocal calls.

Recorded cases are less than what people can know, because this phenomenon is spreading worldwide without boundaries, growing everyday, while thousands of associations are trying to fight against children abuses.
In Italy the most famous children protection association (Telefono Azzurro) receives almost 1.400 help requests per day (dated 2001). Consider that Italy is less than 1% of the world population.
